We are told we cry too easily.
We are told we whine too often.
We are told our only asset is best applied in the kitchen.
We are told our menstrual cycle gets the best of us and we can’t think rationally for a week.
We are told we cannot drive by any means.
We are told to find a rich husband in order to secure ourselves financially.
We are told we are insecure creatures.
We are told the only fight we can put up is a “cat fight”
We are told to play it safe and not take risks, cause at the end of the day, it’s a man’s world…but I beg to differ.
Tweezing, waxing, burns, cramps, pills, pap smears, mammograms, child delivery, hormonal shifts, nausea, morning sickness, anxiety, breast feeding, abortions and yet we are criticized for being emotional?! HA! I would like to see a man endure half of what we do. Sounds crazy to switch roles? Well, women pretty much have; we are now executives at large firms. We are now presidential candidates. We now cook your meals, do your laundry, turn your houses into homes, nurture you, put money in your accounts, raise your children, all the while maintaining good looks . So yes, we may PMS and yes, we may NOT be able to add radiator fluid into our cars but you better believe that we have what makes the world go round.
Ladies-Let us embrace our wounds instead of hide them. Let us cry without feeling weak. Let’s stand up tall against anyone who feels differently and let them know to move out of the way. We all know it is difficult as it is, so don’t let anyone make it any harder on you. If they tell you you’re nothing, don’t believe them. If you’re being belittled, LEAVE. If you have got it going on as a women then you deserve a real MAN who understands, because trust me, a real man will. We have come a long way, and it ain't stoppin' now. Happy International Women’s Day, show ‘em whatcha got!
XOXO, LALA.
we have what makes the world go round.
